Types of Assessments
Standard Parenting Assessment
An in-depth review of a parent or carer’s ability to meet their child’s physical, emotional, and developmental needs.
ParentAssess (Specialist Parenting Assessment)
Tailored for parents with additional needs including learning disabilities, mental health conditions, or substance misuse issues. Uses adapted tools to ensure a fair and accessible assessment process.
Risk Assessment
Identifies and analyses potential risks within a family or caregiving setting, supporting protective planning and intervention.
Sibling Assessment
Evaluates the nature and quality of sibling relationships to inform decisions about whether siblings should be placed together or separately, ensuring their emotional and developmental needs are prioritised.
Private Law Proceedings
Includes Section 7 reports, offering recommendations to the court regarding child arrangements and parental capacity, and Section 37 reports, assessing whether a child is at risk of significant harm and whether local authority intervention is required.
Connected Persons Assessment (CPA)
Evaluates whether a family member or close friend is suitable to care for a child who can no longer remain with their birth parents.
Viability / Regulation 24 Assessment
A short, focused assessment to determine the immediate suitability of a potential carer for emergency or interim placements.
Special Guardianship Order (SGO) Assessment
Assesses the ability of individuals applying to become a Special Guardian to provide a secure and permanent environment for a child.
Fostering Assessment - Form F
A detailed assessment of prospective foster carers, ensuring they meet fostering standards and are equipped to provide a safe, nurturing home.
Adoption Assessment
